JuvodHR was founded in Chicago by serial entrepreneurs Susan Mravca and Peter Spevacek in 2012 to be functional, easy and fast. We’ve been small business owners many times over, so we built what we would use, knowing others need it too, an expert system for business owners to help manage employees.
One of Susan’s companies, a technology staffing firm founded in the early 90’s and later sold to a publicly traded firm, was the inspiration behind JuvodHR. Simple tools to hire, manage and review employees were not available to small business owners at that time. And the technology to build what she wanted was not affordable or accessible until recently. Susan wanted a database of job descriptions she could customize for each job and performance reviews connected to the job descriptions. Susan’s accomplishment was to cultivate the best of O*NET, the nation’s source for all occupational data, extract the useful data, and customize it at a high level by JuvodHR experts.
Peter has spent his career creating new uses for emerging technologies in print, video, and finally the internet. The challenge of JuvodHR was to invert clumsy, forms-based enterprise HR systems, which require a team of people just to set up, into something usable by front-line managers.
The goal of our JuvodHR software is a self-service employee evaluation which can be done by any front line manager or business owner which provides valid results based on well-researched data.
To create usable software we’ve created some unique user experiences. You can search for a pre-written job description (based on more than 250 data points), immediately edit it to your own business needs and save it to your own account. JuvodHR then automatically creates a valid Performance Review, built 100% on the job description designed by your business. The Performance Review includes a simple, clean way to show you, and help you rate, the personal characteristics which are success traits for each occupation in your business. Those ‘Work Styles’ are drawn from a data model developed over 10 years. The employee evaluation stack-ranks your employees and provides you with the expert phrases you need to discuss the results with your employees.
